Pickardville is a hamlet within Westlock County. It is located 2 kilometres west of Highway 44, approximately 62 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.
Children attend public school in the neighboring community of Busby (K-6) and Westlock (Gr. 7-12). The option to attend Catholic and French Immersion programs are also available in the Town of Westlock.
The Pickardville Community relies on its volunteers and residents to create a welcoming atmosphere for all who journey here. Though a variety of functions and fundraisers, the spirit of “getting to know your neighbor” is what’s at the heart of the little hamlet.
The Canada Day Celebration in Pickardville is easily the biggest event of the year and has been a tradition in the community for over 50 years. Along with participants from partnering communities, we are able to join together and provide family friendly events for all ages to celebrate the nation’s birthday. The Pickardville Community League takes the lead on this project and partners with the Pickardville volunteer Fire Department, Pickardville United Church and the Pickardville Catholic Church. The celebrations include many activities including a pancake breakfast, parade, childrens games rallies and many more….closes of with a steak supper and fireworks.
