Westlock County Fire Services has issued a FIRE BAN due to extreme dry and windy conditions.

Please extinguish all fires and check all fires permitted earlier for any hold-over fire that could re-ignite. Burning barrels, cooking and warming fires are also prohibited.

Please continue to exercise fire safety practices including discarding smoking materials properly and using spark arresters on OHVs.

No outdoor fires are permitted during the ban, including recreational fire pits, propane fire pits, burning barrels, and the use of fireworks and charcoal barbecues. The use of natural gas and propane appliances, such as barbecues, is permitted. Fire and fireworks permits are suspended until the ban is lifted. During the ban, anyone found responsible for setting an outdoor fire could be fined up to $500 to $2000 and will be held responsible for firefighting costs.
